The 26th High Criminal Court of İstanbul, with the decision dated 24 May 2018, sentenced Yeni Asya newspaper editor Nur Ener Kılınç, who was arrested for allegedly using ByLock on March 3, 2017 and released on 20 February under house arrest, to 7 years and 6 months imprisonment. The court also decided to continue the practice of house arrest.

The case has been transferred to the ECHR through his lawyers as the regional court did not release her.
