Yeni Yaşam Newspaper’s former Managing Chief Editor Osman Akın and columnist Veysi Sarısözen stand trial at the İstanbul 13th High Criminal Court; they are charged with “propagandizing for a terrorist organization” due to the news articles published in the newspaper’s issue dated October 8, 2018.

The hearing on June 2, 2021 was held on the file as the attorneys had offered an excuse; the hearing has been adjourned until a later date (June 2nd).

At the 12th hearing held on December 21, 2022, Osman Akın’s lawyer Özcan Kılıç was present at the courtroom. The court ruled that the execution of the warrant against Veysi Sarısözen and the return of the letters rogatory should be awaited. The hearing was adjourned until March 23th, 2023 (December 21st).The next hearing will be held on March 23, 2023 (December 21st).
