After journalist Can Ataklı has commented about the courses broadcasting at EBATV,  the indictment against him prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office was completed. Ataklı faces from 9 months to 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment for ““inciting the public to hatred and enmity” (9 May).

The first trial would be held on October 7 at the Istanbul 22nd Criminal Court of First Instance.

At the first hearing held on October 7, 2020, the court board has ruled that the trial shall continue on January 13, 2021 (October 7).

At the hearing held on January 13, the court board indicated that there were no deficiencies in the case file and ruled that the file should be sent to the prosecutor’s office for the preparation of the opinion as to the accusations. The prosecution was given time to prepare the opinion until the next hearing. The next hearing will be held on May 6 (January 13).
